You can obtain building permission for almost any additions to the building, so long as they are connected to the original.

Services

- Water comes from its own natural source which never fails to provide, even during the most severe droughts. Rain and source water is collected in bins of 2100 litres. The domestic tank of 2000 litres can be automatically filled by rain.
- Effluent is dealt with by septic tank - which has worked perfectly since 1996.
- Electricity is theoretically limited to 3 KVA but actually is at least 5KVA.
- The house has central heating which, with its hot water system and the cooker, is powered by propane gas. The outside gas tank is refilled once a year by tanker lorry.
